Don't Let Your Dress still Your Thunder
By Ciara Daykin on Sunday, July 20, 2008 2:46 PM
Many brides look for the best, most sparkling dress imaginable but the one thing they don't think about is how many people will be looking at the dress and not at them. That's okay with the help of GetMarriedTV they are going to help you discover the little things that will help show off the item you want to be noticed. This doesnt' matter if it is your hair, face, neck, bossom or behind, there is something for everything.

For instance get a wedding dress with no straps and leave your neck naked with just a simple piece of jewelry on it. This will show off your lovely long neck and beauty there and people will also tend to look more at your face then the dress. Want someone to look at your hair, make sure you have an open veil and something done extravagant with it. You can do this by just putting it up when it is normally down and adding a few charms to your hair, jewels are a big thing right now.

Hope the video helps you out for your big day coming up.

Andrew Firestone Ties the Knot
By Ciara Daykin on Friday, July 18, 2008 2:30 PM

Being a wedding planner means we must be ready at the drop of a hat and have everything prepared. Sometimes a wedding can take months in advance to plan, while others are as short as one month. For instance look at the now famous couple, Bachelor, Andrew Firestone. Andrew proposed to his sweetheart, Ivana Bozilovic, over a year ago and they just got married last weekend.

One could say he wanted to make sure this one didn't get away, or that they couldn't live without one another. Either way, preparations for this "Hollywood" couple would've been made, some security as well as all those smaller details that I'm sure Ivana was probably freaking out about. But a wedding planner is always ready to take on the smallest, or biggest of projects in as short as a week or longer.

The couple were married inside St. Mark's in Los Olivos, on a beautiful California Saturday, despite the smokiness from all the nearby fires. I bet Andrew is so happy he banked on the right answer when he popped the question. See, what many don't know is he actually booked the wedding location before proposing to her. This is a big no-no, but sometimes it works out... I mean this IS Firestone, heir to the tire fortune.  This is one wedding that went off without the hitch, thanks to some very  careful planning. Currently the happy couple are celebrating their honeymoon down in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, where they'll also celebrate Andrew Firestone's birthday. Congrats to the happy couple!

US Weekly got the first picture of the couple. To see more pictures you'll have to pick up their magazine this week

Deanna & Jesse to wed May 9 in Bahamas
By Ciara Daykin on Sunday, July 13, 2008 11:46 AM
If you're like me you watched every episode of this season's Bachelorette. We all got angry with Graham for not expressing his feelings to her, wondered if Jeremy's Mr. Perfect life was really that perfect, and guessed furiously who she would choose between Seattle Dad Jason and snowboarder Jesse. In the end it was Jesse that Deanna chose at the final rose ceremony.

ABC is gifting the couple with a Greek Islands honeymoon. Jesse will also receive this suit from MisterShop.com

You can see more details about this suit by visiting the store online here I love the look of this suit as it is perfectly appropriate for a hot beach wedding day vs the traditional black tuxedo. Deanna and Jesse have set their wedding day for May 9th 2009 in the Bahamas.

Remember Trista and Ryan's wedding?? I'll bet this wedding will have the same fanfare if not more. The former Bachelorette couple have already been invited to Jesse and Deanna's big day. Deanna also told reporters that the color scheme for her wedding will be brown and Jesse wants a huge cheesecake for their wedding cake. What no fruitcake?

The couple have even launched their own website www.deannaandjesse.com which is where I found this cute picture of them:

How to Pick Your Maid Of Honor & Best Man
By Ciara Daykin on Friday, July 11, 2008 2:00 PM

When it comes time to planning a wedding it is normal the way you pick the wedding party that makes the biggest fuss amongst family and friends. Here is a checklist of things you should think about before picking the Best Man or Maid of Honor.

The bride maid and best man are normally the best friend of the bride and groom, their siblings or the couple that introduced them.  Keep in mind these two should be someone you can count and trust as they have a big role to live up to.  Here's a small checklist that might help decide if they can hold up to what you really need them to do.

-  Can they prepare a bachelor/bachelorette party before the wedding and try not to get the bride/groom in trouble?

-  They will help the bride and groom prepare for the big day by arranging the outfit and making sure everything is in perfect condition.

-  The bride won't be walking down with toilet paper hanging from her high heels.

-  They will attend every pre-party, this includes the ones with both their families, the rehearsal and of course all the parties in between.

- The maid of Honor should keep a list of all gifts and who they came from so the Bride can later write thank you letters.

- The maid of Honor will hold the bouquet during the ceremony.

- The best man will keep hold of the most precious gem of the show...the wedding ring. If you have any doubts, go with someone else.

The maid of honor and best man are normally those that have known the bride or groom for longer than a week. This isn't "My Best Friend's Wedding," this is someone you'll count on for support whether it's doing errands that you need or a shoulder to cry on when things get too stressful. Your wedding will be the one event you remember for the rest of your life, make sure you don't regret the people you chose to share this time with you.

Wedding Dresses for Fall 2008
By Ciara Daykin on Friday, July 11, 2008 1:53 PM

The Fall Wedding dresses have already started popping up around the world, now is your chance to order your gown and start making any preparations you'll need for this fall. There are a number of beauties that'll definitely catch your eye and you may notice the "classic" look is back, with maybe a few adjustments.

Here's a quick video of all the Amsale wedding gowns for Fall 2008.

Women want to relive the past and these designs definitely show it with a bit more class than the original 50s would've had and more color.

Badgley Mischka has the "Dina" is a white satin gown with a silver garland around the neckline. It's simple but yet elegant and will really show off that beautiful chest and neck you want to expose.

Carmela Sutera is bringing back the vintage look, with the high collars and poofy shoulders you can expect a lot of your winter weddings to have this gown. But that's not the only design this year, you'll see a lot of dresses made of French Chantilly lace and in all types of cuts. You'll have the ruffled-layered look, short and sweet to the long and vintage.

LianCarlo wedding gowns are all about comfort and dresses that you can wear for more than just your wedding day. When you spend great money you don't only want to buy a beautiful gown but you want to be able to wear it more than once. These gowns are designed for just that, plus they are simple and cute. They are made with French Chantilly and lace, some have a strapless gown while others have the sweetheart look. While the front is simple the back has more of an elegance to it with their beaded back and small train. Taffeta is also in and with the shredded silk taffeta you'll be ready for a party. The bottom has a drop waist, which gives plenty of room to dance the night away.

Vera Wang is all about strapless wedding gowns this fall and showing the bare shoulder. Another trend seems to be their mermaid gowns, the mermaid effect tends to show off your curves a bit more. Perfect for the girl with the hour glass figure.

Reem Acra, Elie Saab and the Monique Lhuillier, which is the same dress that Ashley Simpson wore to her wedding. There are a ton of dresses that you've got to look at, just make sure that you consider the weather and how much you really like them before buying it.

Rubben Studdard Marries Surata with 20 Groomsmen
By Ciara Daykin on Saturday, June 28, 2008 10:46 AM

Ruben Studdard from American Idol married his fiance, Surata Zuri McCants earlier today. The two have been together for the past two years since they met inside a Wal-Mart store and finally decided it was time to tie the knot. The wedding took place in his hometown Mountain Brook, Alabama.

Joseph Abboud Outfit

The wedding was done in the Canterbury United Methodist Church and had a black and white theme and everyone was sporting the two colors.  As you can see the classic colors are still a big trend in wedding themes today.  The groom and his 20 groomsmen all wore tuxedos by designer, Joseph Abboud which run between $495-$700. How many groomsmen or bridemaids do you plan on having at your wedding?

Wedding Gown Trends Video
By Ciara Daykin on Wednesday, June 25, 2008 3:04 PM
Since you are planning a wedding, you need that perfect wedding dress which will prove very hard to find. It doesn't matter if five look good on you, you will only like one and that one may not be the "trendy wedding dress." Dimitra Mandala tells us her tips on wedding trends.

-  silk taffada wedding gown with Austrian Crystals and French sunlace
-  veils for a tiara
-  wedding gowns with short jackets
-  gowns for the destinations (make sure the gown is geared towards the weather)
-  A wedding gown that can be turned into a dress for all occasions

This year wedding dresses tend to be a bit more simple and many are wanting to show off their bareness in the back and upper chest.

A White House Wedding Reception
By Ciara Daykin on Tuesday, June 24, 2008 9:39 PM

Jenna Bush has made a bit of history over the weekend, she got to have her wedding reception at the White House. On Saturday, President Bush opened the White House for over 600 guests, many of which were secretaries of that past and present plus their own families. It hasn't been stated yet, but I believe this all took place in the Diplomatic Reception Room. Take a look at it here.

Jenna and Henry may have just got back from their honeymoon in Hawaii but this didn't stop her from dancing the night away on the dance floor with her daddy, the President. They were even able to get The United States Marine Band to play a few songs for them.

Congratulations to the happy couple!

The Toilet Paper Wedding Dress Winner of 2008
By Ciara Daykin on Monday, June 23, 2008 3:00 PM
We'd never suggest for you to go out and create your own wedding dress out of toilet paper there were many designers that competed in the "Cheap Chic Weddings 2008 Toilet Paper Wedding Dress Contest" hosted by Charmin. There were over 500 entries but only two came out winners and these were definitely wonderful designs.

The first winner, Katrina Chalifoux, received $1000 Visa Card and second, Terri Glover, got $500. What do you think of these dresses? This is a contest that is conducted every year so if you think you've got what it takes to make a wedding dress start preparing now to enter next year.
