Lisa & Mike - Brilliance in Banff
Lisa grew up in Calgary but moved to Ontario where she met her husband to be Mike. She knew that when it came to a destination there was no where else she wanted to have her wedding but back in Alberta in Banff at the world renowned Banff Springs Hotel.
As luck would have it we were in Ontario visiting and able to meet with Lisa to plan her wedding. We came up with a concept inspired by Mount Stephen Hall’s castle-like appearance and integrating Lisa’s favorite color blue. The couple was also honeymooning in Napa Valley so we named all the tables after their favorite wineries.
The ceremony took place in a small Banff church and the bride looked stunning as she clutched her bouquet of ivory roses and hydrangea adorned with a gorgeous ice blue bow.
The wedding had no shortage of elegance with tall silver candelabras on each table filled with lilies and roses, dupioni silk chocolate brown tablecloths, and each chair covered in a chocolate brown satin cover with a satin ice blue sash.
A special touch was the memorial table for the bride’s mother who had passed away. Working with the bridesmaids we assembled precious elements from this matriarch’s own wedding such as the scrapbook she put together while planning her wedding, along with the original sketch for her dress AND the wedding dress along with her rosary. The bride’s great aunt who made her mother’s dress was also in attendance and she shared in the bride’s joy of this special memorial.
