Tanya & Todd - A Brunch After Marriage

Todd and Tanya planned a beautiful church wedding followed by an elegant brunch. We helped them put it all together and create a seamless experience for them and their guests.

When the couple told me they’d be having a brunch to celebrate their nuptials instead of a traditional dinner reception I thought it was a great idea. They wanted to take their immediate family and bridal party to Banff after the brunch and take their time getting there for fun photos along the way.

The River Café was the setting for their brunch celebration and being that the venue is incredibly rustic but elegant we helped the couple choose simple gerbera daisy centerpieces with river rock in the bottom representing the nearby river. All of the wedding day stationary was also adorned with the red gerbera as was the wedding cake which was a traditional German black forest cake representing the groom’s heritage.

Ciara’s Bridal Advice

If you really want to do something different to celebrate your marriage try celebrating it with a meal other than dinner. A brunch wedding is a great example of a way to gather friends and family together to break bread. But when you choose to host your guests for a meal other than dinner know some of the other elements of a wedding may not be appropriate such as the dancing.
